Carolina Herrera's Tulip Field Takeover
If you thought you’d have to head to Amsterdam to see nearly 30,000 yellow tulips together in one space, think again, as Caroline Herrera brought a sea of blooms to New York’s David H. Koch Theatre, providing a rather perfect centrepiece for the Spring/Summer 27 collection. Creative Director Wes Gordon describes it as his vision of Park Avenue in Spring, though I promise this was even more beautiful. You’ll also be glad to know, every tulip not nabbed by one of the guests will be donated and repurposed as mulch for New York City parks.

Tie-Dye Detailing At Tory Burch
Tory Burch talks about “beauty, utility, and humour — the joy of getting dressed,” in her Spring/Summer 27 show notes, and what brings all of those elements together more than wearing tie-dye to the office? Not in the gap-year T-shirt you might have at the bottom of your wardrobe, but a hand-dyed golden skirt that’s actually one of a kind.

Fancy Frogs Creep Up At Carolina Herrera
Wes Gordon’s Carolina Herrera show was a celebration of Herrera’s own 45-year legacy, with hidden snippets of her own personality subtly woven in. Her favourite New York restaurant? La Grenouille, which translates to the frog. So gold-tone versions of the long-limbed fellas found their way onto bags and brooches, naturally.

Collina Strada Goes Off-Grid
New York Fashion Week is no stranger to an incredible venue, but venturing over an hour by bus out of the city is certainly unusual. Hauling fashion editors, buyer and photographers onto coaches, Collina Strada chose the Storm King Art Center for their Spring/Summer 27 show, the first runway show ever to be held at the open-air sculpture museum.

Ralph Lauren’s Compelling Craftsmanship
As Ralph Lauren leans into boho baroque, bringing back a personal favourite of mine, the velvet duster coat, the American label also put a strong spotlight on craftsmanship. Hand-finishes and experimental fabrics create the perfect patina for pieces that wish to feel vintage.

Mara Beauty, one of my all-time favourite skincare brands, founded by Grounded Guest Editor Alison McNamara, brought it’s skincare backstage at Collina Strada. The hero product? Mara’s Pearl Peptide Glaze, which, I can confirm, is absolutely runway-worthy.

Monse Does Denim Differently
Yes, we’ve seen denim so many times we’ve now lost count (especially if you’re as fond of your jeans as I am), but Monse made theirs extra special. “The upper construction stays intact, while the legs are deconstructed yarn by yarn into that incredible fringe. Denim engineering at its best,” writes @denimagram.

Conner Ives Puts Passion Behind Pre-Loved
“Passion! What's wrong with passion? What ever happened to fun?!” writes Conner Ives in his show notes. The line “how a dinner napkin can be repurposed as a great headscarf,” being especially fitting, as the New York-born, London-based designer prioritises the repurposing of deadstock and vintage garments in every piece: sports shirts, piano shawls and hand-painted fish skins, included.
